Next month sees the launch of \u201cSpider-Noir\u201d on Amazon Prime, a live-action series in which Nicolas Cage takes his animated voice character from 2018\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse\u201d and delivers a live-action spin on it.<\/p>\n

The series tells the story of Ben Reilly (Cage), a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy as the city\u2019s only superhero.<\/p>\n

Co-showrunner Oren Uziel previously confirmed last month that this take is the \u201csame character, different universe\u201d and a slightly different flavour, but \u201cnot a continuation of Into the Spider-Verse\u201d.<\/p>\n

Now, speaking with SFX Magazine (via Games Radar<\/a>), Uziel claims several unannounced projects featuring similar Spider-Man\/Spider-Verse variants are in the works:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m focused on Spider-Noir, but I know there are others in the works. I\u2019ve talked a bit to the people working on them and I think they are very exciting. They\u2019re following a little bit of that same formula [as Spider-Noir], that same idea of taking a genre and elevating it by putting a Spider-variant into it. It opens up a whole new world, and it\u2019s just an extremely exciting opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

No specific projects were mentioned in the interview. One of the projects mentioned is very likely to be the Spider-Punk movie announced last year, which has voice actor Daniel Kaluuya involved in some capacity.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also been talk of a Spider-Gwen film, but that\u2019s rumour only for now.
