Dezeen has teamed up with kitchen appliance brand Gaggenau<\/a> to create a video<\/a> reel documenting its immersive Presence installation<\/a> at this year’s Milan design week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Designed in partnership with Munich-based architecture Studio 1ZU33<\/a>, the week-long exhibition situates existing and newly launched products in a minimalist environment.<\/p>\n

Gaggenau has unveiled its Presence installation at Milan design week<\/p>\n

The minimalist installation occupies the glass conservatory of the historic Villa Necchi Campiglio. It marks the third time the brand has taken over the space, following events in 2022 and 2024.<\/p>\n

Gaggenau’s Expressive Series oven<\/a> is installed on a stepped stage, while its Vario Cooling Expressive series<\/a> of wine fridges line the walls of the space behind brass-effect doors.<\/p>\n

As well as the chance to experience new products first-hand, visitors will be able to enjoy events at the villa, including a Dezeen talk with architect John Pawson<\/a>. The talk will be filmed and published on Dezeen after Milan design week.<\/p>\n

Three-Michelin-star chef Tohru Nakamura contributed a culinary integration for the installation that demonstrates how Gaggenau’s products can be used to prepare innovative dishes.<\/p>\n

“Milan design week has always given us the opportunity to express ideas that go beyond the product,” said Gaggenau managing director Peter Goetz.<\/p>\n

“Presence is about refining to what is essential \u2013 allowing space, material and light to speak on behalf of the brand,” he continued.<\/p>\n

“Here, the distractions and noise of Milan will give way to clarity. It will be a refuge for the design community.”<\/p>\n

Villa Necchi Campiglio was designed and built between 1932 and 1935 by architect Piero Portaluppi and was famously featured in the 2009 film I Am Love, directed by Luca Guadagnino.<\/p>\n
