Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park\u00a0is expanding its overnight experience, with the addition of new luxury cabins as part of a push toward year-round tourism.<\/p>\n

Located on Siksika Nation, around an hour and a half east of Calgary, Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park will see three fixed-roof cabins piloted in June 2026 as demand for its cultural experiences continues to grow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new project is being supported by Travel Alberta, which says the investment will help position the site as one of Canada\u2019s leading Indigenous tourism destinations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe addition of these new year-round accommodations will create even more reasons for travellers to stay and explore, the kind of authentic and community-led tourism that puts Alberta on the map and keeps visitors coming back,\u201d said David Goldstein, president and CEO of Travel Alberta, in a release.<\/p>\n

The new cabins come after the success of Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park\u2019s Tipi Village, which features 15 rentable tipis that have quickly become a popular experience within the park, selling out each season.<\/p>\n

\u201cTravel Alberta\u2019s investment supports the continued growth of Soyohpawahko Blackfoot Crossing as a destination for cultural tourism,\u201d said Tia Black, manager at Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park. \u201cBy expanding beyond our existing Tipi Village, we can offer year-round experiences that encourage longer stays and deeper engagement with Blackfoot history and culture.\u201d<\/p>\n
