April 21 (UPI) — Top Gun and its sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, are returning to cinemas next month.<\/p>\n

“Two films. One big screen. Back in theaters, May 13th, for one week only,” star Tom Cruise wrote<\/a> on social media Monday.<\/p>\n

The original film opened in 1986 and starred Cruise as hot-shot naval aviator Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The cast also included Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, Meg Ryan and Tom Skerritt.<\/p>\n

Cruise played Maverick again in the 2022 sequel, which co-starred Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Lewis Pullman and Glen Powell.<\/p>\n
