A 72-year-old male has been taken into custody and faces charges for racist comments and threats to a member of\u00a0the legislative assembly of Manitoba.<\/p>\n
Between\u00a0July and September 2025, multiple letters were sent to\u00a0a member of the legislative assembly of Manitoba from an unknown source. The letters contained\u00a0racist comments, including a threat of violence.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and later identified a suspect.<\/p>\n
Along with\u00a0the assistance of the Tactical Support Team,on April 18, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the northwest area of the city.<\/p>\n
A\u00a072-year-old man\u00a0was taken into custody and is facing the following charges:<\/p>\n
\n\tCriminal Harassment
\n\tUttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
<\/p>\n
He was released on an Undertaking.<\/p>\n
