MMAFighting<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThe Fighter vs. The Writer,\u201d Matt Brown was clearly down on the Rousey vs. Carano matchup. He even made comparisons to Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.<\/p>\n\u201cIt will do big numbers but who is actually going to care?\u201d Brown said. \u201cHow many times are going to walk away from a fight \u2014 like you were just talking about with Jake Paul and Mike Tyson \u2014 and kind of feel icky and wish that we didn\u2019t watch it? I think we\u2019re going to feel the same thing with this fight. Feel like we wasted our time. Maybe not feel icky but we\u2019re going to feel like we wasted our time.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow many times are we going to do that? At some point it\u2019s going to play itself out. Probably if anything it\u2019s all going to help the UFC. People are going to become fight fans and they\u2019re like \u2018I\u2019m sick of this shit, can I just watch a real godd*amn fight? Oh yeah, we have a place that does that. It has all the best fights in the world. The UFC.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rousey hasn\u2019t competed in MMA since late 2016. It\u2019s been even longer for Carano, who was last seen inside the cage all the way back in Aug. 2009. Both stars were pioneers for women\u2019s MMA in their era, but the question remains: how much fight do either of them have left?<\/p>\n
