The province has fined a Brampton immigration services company $20,000 after discovering false information on an application.<\/p>\n
Ontario\u2019s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development says the offence happened in 2023 when Brampton-based company Grayfeather Immigration Inc. was representing an applicant to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).<\/p>\n
The application included employment information that the OINP was unable to verify, resulting in the refusal of the application and a follow-up investigation.<\/p>\n
The province says the application contained \u201cfalsely represented employment information,\u201d and failed to disclose the use of an authorized representative, as required by the program.<\/p>\n
Grayfeather pleaded guilty to violating the Ontario Immigration Act in February and has been fined $20,000, the ministry says.<\/p>\n
The court also imposed a 25 per cent victim fine surcharge as required by the Provincial Offences Act, credited to a special provincial government fund to assist victims of crime.<\/p>\n
