{"id":620205,"date":"2026-04-22T03:22:24","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T03:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/620205\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T03:22:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T03:22:24","slug":"toronto-police-officer-arrested-after-unlawfully-accessing-police-databases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/620205\/","title":{"rendered":"Toronto police officer arrested after &#8220;unlawfully&#8221; accessing police databases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Toronto police says one of their officers has been arrested and charged by the police service.<\/p>\n<p>The officer arrested was allegedly unlawfully accessing \u201cprivate police databases on multiple occasions between June and December 2025,\u201d according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Constable Rifat Hassan, 33, has been arrested and charged with unauthorized use of computer.<\/p>\n<p>He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, in July.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say Hassan  has approximately 10 months of service. Police say he is suspended without pay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis arrest is not related to Project South,\u201d Toronto police said in a media release on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Toronto police says one of their officers has been arrested and charged by the police service.
