{"id":620313,"date":"2026-04-22T04:29:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T04:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/620313\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T04:29:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T04:29:09","slug":"womens-tennis-gets-five-on-all-mw-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/620313\/","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Tennis Gets Five on All-MW Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN DIEGO \u2013 San Diego State women\u2019s tennis landed five players on this year\u2019s All-Mountain West team, the conference announced on Tuesday. <a href=\"https:\/\/goaztecs.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/player\/jo-yee-chan\" title=\"Jo-Yee Chan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jo-Yee Chan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/goaztecs.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/player\/gloria-alogo\" title=\"Gloria Alogo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gloria Alogo<\/a> earned singles honors while Chan\/<a href=\"https:\/\/goaztecs.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/player\/vessa-turley\" title=\"Vessa Turley\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vessa Turley<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/goaztecs.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/player\/jayna-clemens\" title=\"Jayna Clemens\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jayna Clemens<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/goaztecs.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/player\/ninon-martinache\" title=\"Ninon Martinache\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ninon Martinache<\/a> were recognized in doubles.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second consecutive all-conference singles distinction for Chan. As a senior, the Aztec amassed an impressive 21-8 overall record and 5-1 against Mountain West opponents. Taking the top court for the entirety of the season, Chan finished with a 10-4 dual match record.<\/p>\n<p>Chan paired up with freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/goaztecs.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/player\/vessa-turley\" title=\"Vessa Turley\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vessa Turley<\/a> in doubles competition and the Aztec duo notched a 24-6 overall record and 13-4 on the top court this spring, including 7-2 in conference play. Their performance in the fall, including an ITA Conference Masters doubles championship, sent the pair to their first career NCAA Championships. In addition to making the all-conference team, Chan was a three-time recipient of Mountain West Player of the Week this season while Turley earned Freshman of the Week honors on one occasion.<\/p>\n<p>In singles competition, Alogo holds an 11-6 overall record and 7-2 in dual matches. She went undefeated in Mountain West matchups, going 3-0 on courts two and three. Her performance in spots 2-4 helped lead the Aztecs to one of their most successful seasons in program history and their second consecutive regular season conference championship.<\/p>\n<p>Clemens and Martinache have also been a vital part of San Diego State\u2019s success this year. The duo played on court two in doubles competition, tallying a 16-5 overall record and 9-4 in the spring, collecting four conference wins along the way.<\/p>\n<p>The Aztecs finished the regular season 18-3 and 10-1 in the Mountain West.
