There was a new face was at Moose practice today<\/a> as Jets prospect Garrett Brown (2022 4th) took part in his first ever playoff practice as a pro. The big, right shot defenceman is coming off winning a National Championship with Denver University.<\/p>\n

After the skate we had a chance to catch up with him to discuss his style of game, winning a title with the Pioneers, signing his first NHL contract, his development path and much more.<\/p>\n

He spoke about signing his first contract<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was so awesome. They were great during this whole experience. They\u2019ve been nothing but kind and welcoming\u2026. I\u2019m super excited to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

On knowing when it was time to turn pro<\/a> (I was impressed by this answer):<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think you do. You can always say one decision is better than the other, but I think you need to make a decision and then you need to make that the right decision\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c I think I\u2019m just a long-term thing. I grew up playing junior Sharks, we\u2019ve never been in a rush, go play in the USHL for a couple years, three years at Denver. It\u2019s all about the process\u201d.<\/p>\n
