What should the Washington Commanders<\/a> do at No. 7 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft? After filling various needs in free agency, general manager Adam Peters is in a position to grab the best player available.<\/p>\n

The Commanders<\/a> have been linked to numerous top players through mock drafts. Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles<\/a>, Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs<\/a>, and LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane are among the most popular choices. However, there’s a good chance that Love and Styles will be gone, and it’s possible that Tate and Downs could also be gone.<\/p>\n

But what should Washington do?<\/p>\n

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports revealed his final mock draft<\/a>, with a twist. Instead of predictive mock drafts, Prisco’s mock focuses on what each team should do.<\/p>\n

For the Commanders at No. 7 overall, Prisco’s choice is a bit polarizing. He mocks Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson to Washington.<\/p>\n

They need to get more help in the passing game for Jayden Daniels<\/a>. Tyson would be a nice addition to Terry McLaurin<\/a>, who turns 31 in September.<\/p>\n

Talent isn’t the issue with Tyson. There are no character concerns either. It’s all about health. He’s dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career, and was unable to participate at the 2026 NFL combine and ASU’s pro day. However, he held a private workout for NFL scouts last week, and apparently received a clean bill of health. He’s been moving up mock drafts since.<\/p>\n

Here’s the deal on Tyson. NFL teams aren’t the ones changing their minds. They’ve always loved the talent. The images of Tyson at his workout have helped the media buzz. When it’s all said and done on Thursday night, Tyson will go in the top 10, perhaps as high as No. 5, to the New York Giants<\/a>. If he slips past New York, it wouldn’t be a shock to see the Commanders make the move.<\/p>\n
