{"id":621156,"date":"2026-04-22T14:01:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:01:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/621156\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T14:01:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:01:11","slug":"government-exploring-options-to-bolster-staffing-for-mri-machines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/621156\/","title":{"rendered":"Government Exploring Options to Bolster Staffing for MRI Machines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/mri-2.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"Government Exploring Options to Bolster Staffing for MRI Machines\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(VOCM News)<\/p>\n<p>Two new MRIs have been added to the health care system thanks to the provincial government and money raised through the Health Care Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Health Minister Lela Evans says the two state-of-the-art machines, to be located in the province\u2019s Ambulatory Health Hub in the capital city\u2019s east end, will help to alleviate wait times for diagnostic imaging. <\/p>\n<p>She says the next step is ensuring they have the staff to keep them going. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s one thing we\u2019re looking at now,\u201d says Evans, \u201cincreasing, through the College of the North Atlantic, and also through other partnerships like with Dalhousie University, just so that we have the technologists and the trained professionals. A lot of the work can be done here in the province, so we\u2019re looking at that right now.
