Manny Pacquiao is entering the fitness business with plans to scale, beginning with a former location of Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, the franchise co-founded<\/a> by rival Floyd Mayweather Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n The eight-division world boxing champion has taken over the spot on Highland Avenue in Hollywood after the Mayweather Boxing + Fitness franchisee declined to renew the lease. The location officially closed Jan. 1, 2025, per a social media post.<\/p>\n The space is being rebranded as Pacquiao Prime Boxing, according to a report first published by The Ring on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Pacquiao Prime Boxing will serve as Pacquiao\u2019s training base for his September rematch against Mayweather at the Sphere in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is not an emotional decision, it\u2019s a business decision,\u201d Jas Mathur, CEO of Pacquiao\u2019s promotional company and a former business associate of Mayweather, told the publication. \u201cWe\u2019re not looking at anything Mayweather Boxing + Fitness did. We have our own model, and it\u2019s the first of many Pacquiao Prime Boxing locations we want to open. It\u2019s the first step in a much bigger plan that we have.\u201d<\/p>\n Pacquiao Prime Boxing will appeal to pro fighters, athletes, celebrities and top trainers, Mathur added.<\/p>\n
