EDINBURG, Texas \u2013\u00a0The City of Edinburg is ready to rumble! The Parks and Recreation Department is set to host the South Texas Junior Boxing Olympics May 1 through May 3 at 315 E. Mark S. Pe\u00f1a Drive. The premier youth sporting event, sanctioned by the South Texas Amateur Boxing Association (STABA), will feature over 250 boxing matches Friday through Sunday.<\/p>\n

Over 430 male and female boxers, ages 8 to 16, are registered to compete. Participants hail from across the STABA region, including Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, Laredo, Corpus Christi, and the entire Rio Grande Valley. The event attracts not only young athletes, but also an estimated 200 coaches and 58 STABA officials.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance at the Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department (315 E. Mark S. Pe\u00f1a Dr.) or at the door the day of the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n
