It was one of 25 schools built in the area between 1906 and 1913, as Calgary\u2019s public school attendance rose from 1,911 in 1906 to 9,587 in 1914.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2264299\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/MixCollage-22-Apr-2026-10-49-AM-7765.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2264299\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Michael Wells \u2013 Lens &amp; List<\/p>\n<p>The Calgary Board of Education awarded the contract to builder J.A. McPhail for $17,500. It was designed by Toronto-based architects Ellis and Connery.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The building served as a school until 1977, when it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calgary.ca\/arts-culture\/heritage-sites\/scripts\/historic-sites.html?dhcResourceId=465\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">converted into offices<\/a>, and in the late 1980s, it was sold and turned into condominiums.
