A man and woman from Winnipeg have been charged following a robbery with a firearm in the RM of Fisher.<\/p>\n
At 7:35 p.m. on April 16,\u00a0Fisher Branch RCMP responded to a robbery with a firearm on Highway 17 North, just south of Hodgson in the RM of Fisher.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It was reported that\u00a0a male was assaulted by three individuals who then stole his truck. The suspects also threatened to kill the victim with a sawed-off shotgun.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police patrolled the area, attempting to locate the suspects without success.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Officers spoke to the victim at his residence and found him in medical distress. He was quickly taken to a local hospital by police, before being transferred\u00a0to a Winnipeg hospital by ambulance shortly after.<\/p>\n
Through the investigation, officers learned an incident occured earlier in the day between the suspects and another female.\u00a0The victim confronted the suspects, who then assaulted him with a baseball bat and taser while kicking him and pointing a sawed-off shotgun, threatening to kill him. All three suspects took off in his truck, and the victim walked home.<\/p>\n
The 59-year-old male victim from the community,\u00a0suffered life-threatening injuries but is now recovering in the hospital.<\/p>\n
An arrest warrant was applied for two of the three suspects – a 36-year-old male and a 36-year-old female, both from Winnipeg.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At 4:20 p.m. on April 21, the pair was located at a residence in Winnipeg by members of the Manitoba Integrated Violent Officer Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU). They were arrested without incident.<\/p>\n
