Health inspectors have shut down a Dairy Queen in southeast Calgary due to a mouse infestation.<\/p>\n
Alberta Health Services (AHS) says extensive mouse activity was found at the Dairy Queen\/Orange Julius location on Fairmount Drive SE, just south of Southland Drive.<\/p>\n
Inspectors reported mice droppings beneath equipment and throughout the storage and service areas. They said a nest was also found behind an ice cream machine. <\/p>\n
The business had no pest control contract or records, according to AHS. Inspectors also noted multiple gaps and holes in the building that could allow rodents to enter or hide.<\/p>\n
AHS has ordered the owners to shut down immediately, move equipment to assess the full infestation, clean and disinfect all contaminated areas, hire a licensed pest control company, keep written pest\u2011control documentation, and repair all structural deficiencies. <\/p>\n
