A 23-year-old Brampton man has been charged with fraud and other offences after elderly victims were allegedly offered roof repairs and other services that were never completed.<\/p>\n

Toronto Police said two elderly victims were approached in July 2024 by \u201cmultiple\u201d male suspects who were purported to be \u201clegitimate\u201d contractors and City of Toronto workers.<\/p>\n

The victims paid for roof repairs, \u201cmandatory\u201d backyard cleanups and \u201cemergency\u201d home repairs that were never completed or required, police said.<\/p>\n

Arashdeep Singh was arrested on Tuesday and charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, two counts of laundering the proceeds of crime and three counts each of fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.<\/p>\n

Police said they believe there may be more victims and that business names used in the alleged scheme included Xcellent Custom Homes Ltd., Friendly Masonry Ltd. and 17051450 Canada Inc.<\/p>\n

Toronto Police are asking for help in identifying a male suspect accused of lifting a wallet and bank cards from unsuspecting victims.<\/p>\n

Police said the first victim was targeted on Nov. 29, 2025, at a financial institution in The East Mall-Burnhamthorpe Rd. area of Etobicoke, where the suspect was walking close to the victim before stealing their wallet.<\/p>\n

The suspect was last seen walking northbound on The East Mall.<\/p>\n

Police said another victim was approached on Jan. 30 in a parking lot near Burnhamthorpe and Dundas St. W., where they were told by the suspect that there was a problem with their car.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s bank cards were taken once they got out of their car, which police said were later used by the suspect to make withdrawals.<\/p>\n

Police said the suspect is 50 to 70 years old and about 5-foot-9 to 6-foot with a white beard. He was wearing a dark jacket and sunglasses.<\/p>\n
