{"id":624125,"date":"2026-04-23T21:20:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T21:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/624125\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T21:20:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T21:20:10","slug":"floyd-mayweather-confirms-who-he-will-fight-before-manny-pacquiao-rematch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/624125\/","title":{"rendered":"Floyd Mayweather confirms who he will fight before Manny Pacquiao rematch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Floyd Mayweather is officially set to return to the ring this summer before he collides with <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/manny-pacquiao\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manny Pacquiao<\/a> later in the year.<\/p>\n<p>It came as a shock earlier this year when it was announced that Mayweather was due to end his near decade-long retirement and return to competitive action to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/48016955\/manny-pacquiao-sets-rematch-vs-floyd-mayweather-sept-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">face former foe Pacquiao at The Sphere in Las Vegas on September 19.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In recent weeks there have been doubts raised over the contest though, with <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/mayweather-denies-pacquiao-fight-is-pro\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mayweather claiming that the fight is set to be an exhibition<\/a> rather than a professional contest, while Pacquiao insists it will be a fully sanctioned bout.<\/p>\n<p>As confusion continues over that match-up, one thing that is for certain is Mayweather is scheduled to compete before that showdown with Pacquiao, after he confirmed details surrounding an exhibition in June.<\/p>\n<p>Mayweather had been set for exhibitions against both Mike Tyson and Mike Zambidis this year, and while there have been no further updates on the Tyson clash, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/floydmayweather\/p\/DXeM9fSgk7n\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mayweather has posted on social media<\/a> to officially reveal the details for his battle against Zambidis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIT\u2019S OFFICIAL. June 27 \u2013 Athens, Greece History will be made. I\u2019m stepping in the ring with Mike Zambidis. One night. One stage.
