The Wicklow woman, who boxed at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, told Boxing Ireland it “took me a while to get in to the fight” but did enough to set up a quarter-final against Kazakhstan’s Alua Balikibekova.<\/p>\n
Clancy, who also boxed at the 2024 Games, came through on a split decision against Mexico’s Hugo Barron at 65kg.<\/p>\n
The Sligo, who was deducted a point, finished strong to set up a meeting with Brazil’s Yuri Falcao for a place on the podium, a fight be believes will be “a great test, especially in Brazil against the home fighter”.<\/p>\n
