{"id":624315,"date":"2026-04-23T23:18:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/624315\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T23:18:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:18:11","slug":"weekend-traffic-april-24-27-2026-avoid-highway-520-west","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/624315\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend traffic April 24-27, 2026: Avoid Highway 520 west"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Quebec\u2019s transport ministry is advising drivers to avoid parts of Highway 520 and Route 138 because of planned work that will cause major traffic disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>Highway 520<\/p>\n<p>The highway will be completely closed westbound at Highway 13 between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, with traffic diverted to the service road, as preliminary work continues to replace the overpass. From Monday until May 4, only one lane will be open, and the entrance at Mont\u00e9e de Liesse will remain closed.<\/p>\n<p>Route 138<\/p>\n<p>In LaSalle, exits to and entrances from Cl\u00e9ment St. in both directions will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Alternative options include Airlie St. and Angrignon Blvd. Cl\u00e9ment St. is closed between des Oblats St. and St-Patrick St. during this time.<\/p>\n<p>In Ch\u00e2teauguay, St-Jean-Baptiste Blvd. will have two of three lanes closed between Rodrigue St. and Industriel Blvd. from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Highway 30<\/p>\n<p>In Vaudreuil-Dorion, the exit to and entrance from Route 340 (Cit\u00e9-des-Jeunes Blvd.) on Highway 30 east will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Jacques-Cartier Bridge<\/p>\n<p>The ramp toward the South Shore from Jean-Drapeau Park will be closed overnights from 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to 8 a.m. the next day, for inspection work. <\/p>\n<p>Canadiens-de-Montr\u00e9al Ave.<\/p>\n<p>Watch parties for Games 3 and 4 of the Canadiens-Lightning playoff series will close Canadiens-de-Montr\u00e9al Ave. and de la Montagne, Drummond, Stanley and Peel Sts. between Ren\u00e9-L\u00e9vesque Blvd. and Canadiens-de-Montr\u00e9al, from 1 p.m. until after the game on Friday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>De Lorimier Ave.<\/p>\n<p>The street will be completely closed northbound between Ren\u00e9-L\u00e9vesque and de Maisonneuve Blvds. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday for work on underground water pipes.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tContinuing disruptions\t<\/p>\n<p>REM: Trains leaving Brossard have <a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/local-news\/rem-introducing-short-run-trains-terminating-at-bois-franc-for-test-run\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">two alternating destinations<\/a> \u2014 Deux-Montagnes and Bois-Franc. The latter trains will continue to Anse-\u00e0-l\u2019Orme station when that branch opens on May 18. Display boards at the stations indicate the destinations of each train (those that say they go to Anse-\u00e0-l\u2019Orme will disembark all passengers at Bois-Franc, who can take the next train toward Deux-Montagnes to continue down the line).<\/p>\n<p>Highway 10: Eastbound Exit 3 for Carrie-Derick St. is permanently closed as part of the rebuilding of the Bonaventure.<\/p>\n<p>Highway 19 (Papineau-Leblanc Bridge): Two lanes are open on the bridge between Montreal and Laval in each direction, with partial or complete closings on some nights until the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Highway 40 (\u00cele-aux-Tourtes Bridge):\u00a0The bridge is down to five lanes \u2014 two toward Montreal and two toward Vaudreuil-Dorion, with a fifth lane alternating directions (toward Montreal from midnight to 10 a.m. weekdays and toward Vaudreuil-Dorion from noon to 10 p.m. weekdays and all weekends and holidays).<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Talon St.: Work on building the Blue Line m\u00e9tro extension means parts of Jean-Talon St. are closed. Affected buses (in particular 141, 188 and 372) are detoured onto B\u00e9langer and Everett Sts. to avoid those areas, and a temporary shuttle bus (<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stm.info\/fr\/projet-ligne-bleue\/mobilite-et-deplacements\">No. 814<\/a>) has been established along Jean-Talon and B\u00e9langer Sts.<\/p>\n<p>Ste-Catherine St. (Ville-Marie): Major work on the street and underground infrastructure means it is closed between St-Mathieu and Mackay Sts., and between de la Montagne and Peel Sts. Crossing streets are also blocked. Guy St. is closed at Ste-Catherine St.<\/p>\n<p>Berri St. (Ville-Marie): Major work at the Berri-UQAM m\u00e9tro station has resulted in Berri St. being closed between Ste-Catherine and Ontario Sts., and de Maisonneuve Blvd. being closed between St-Denis and St-Hubert Sts. until November 2027. Traffic is detoured via St-Hubert, Atateken, St-Urbain or Ontario Sts., or Ren\u00e9-L\u00e9vesque Blvd., while cyclists are being diverted to Atateken and Ontario Sts. STM buses 30 and 50 have been cut short to avoid the area, and express bus 427 has been suspended, with additional departures added to the 27 bus on St-Joseph Blvd. in the Plateau. For more information, <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stm.info\/en\/info\/service-updates\/stm-works\/berri-uqam\">visit stm.info<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pie-IX Blvd. (Mercier\u2014Hochelaga-Maisonneuve): Work to extend the SRB Pie-IX south means only one lane is open in each direction between Pierre-de-Coubertin Ave. and Notre-Dame St.<\/p>\n<p>St-Urbain St. (Ville-Marie): The overpass over the Ville-Marie Expressway is closed for a long renovation until the end of 2026.
