Surging bantamweight fighter Nikolija Milosevic believes her style combines the skills of three of the top fighters on the planet, and hopes to show the world that skill set in the hallowed UFC octagon.<\/p>\n
Since dropping a split decision in her pro debut in November 2023, the Serbian mixed martial artist has done nothing but impress: over her next eight fights, she has gone undefeated, finishing five opponents along the way. In her most recent fight, she handed Dina Osman her first career loss via unanimous decision at BRAVE CF 104 in February.<\/p>\n
When asked which fighters she likes to watch compete, Milosevic pointed to three UFC champions as to who she emulates the most.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like Ilia Topuria, Islam Makhachev, Khamzat [Chimaev], of course, because I have a very similar style to them,\u201d Milosevic told MMA Fighting. \u201cI\u2019m trying to copy them because Ilia has the good standup, pressuring people to the red zone, whereas Islam is just suffocating people on the ground. So I like that combination. Those are the fighters I like to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n
Milosevic has competed in combat sports at high levels since she was a teenager, going from kickboxing to diving into the jiu-jitsu world before finding MMA where she could combine the disciplines. The 29-year-old won multiple IMMAF world titles as an amateur before making the move to the professional level.<\/p>\n
\u201cQueen Beast\u201d has been on top of most prospect lists for a UFC call for quite some time, and believes her time is now to make an impact in the women\u2019s 135-pound division.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t spoken with them directly, everything goes through my management,\u201d Milosevic said. \u201cBut yes, I\u2019ve been hearing and I was told that I was supposed to get it a long time ago, which hasn\u2019t happened yet, but also it\u2019s not up to them because there haven\u2019t been any females on a lot of cards, but it\u2019s coming back again. So then, I just have to stay ready.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut like I said, I directly haven\u2019t spoken with UFC, this is just what I\u2019ve heard, what my management has told me, what I know for now. But yeah, let\u2019s hope [I get the call soon].<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t wait, but I have to.\u201d<\/p>\n
With rumors of the UFC heading to Serbia later this year, Milosevic would love nothing more than to compete on a card like that. And while there are other options for her\u2014with PFL, and even MVP making an MMA push this year\u2014the 8-1 pro believes it\u2019s UFC or bust.<\/p>\n
\u201c[It would mean] everything,\u201d Milosevic explained. \u201cThat\u2019s what I\u2019ve been working my whole life for. That\u2019s what we\u2019re waiting for. It would be like amazing and surreal, and like, \u2018Is this really happening?\u2019 I would have to pinch myself like a million times.<\/p>\n
\u201cFingers crossed [I\u2019m in the UFC this year]. I have to be, but it\u2019s not up to me. But if it would be [up to me], it would be yesterday. \u2026If PFL would have wanted to sign me two years ago, of course [I would\u2019ve jumped all over it], but I\u2019m too old right now. I don\u2019t have many years left. It\u2019s now or never, if that makes sense. Like it\u2019s wear and tear in this sport, and now I have to just put on full gas and go to the UFC. But, of course I love what PFL has done, and they really have a very good promotion and what they\u2019ve done and all that, but no.
