{"id":624465,"date":"2026-04-24T00:58:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T00:58:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/624465\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T00:58:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T00:58:15","slug":"canada-pension-plan-payments-for-april-are-going-into-bank-accounts-and-mailboxes-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/624465\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Pension Plan payments for April are going into bank accounts and mailboxes soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>April payments for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.narcity.com\/tag\/canada-pension-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Canada Pension Plan<\/a> (CPP) will be in bank accounts and mailboxes soon.<\/p>\n<p>The average benefit amount is now more than $900 per month.<\/p>\n<p>You can expect a direct deposit or cheque with this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.narcity.com\/tag\/government-payments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">government payment<\/a> before the end of the month if you&#8217;re eligible.<\/p>\n<p>CPP is a retirement pension administered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.narcity.com\/tag\/service-canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Service Canada<\/a> that&#8217;s meant to replace part of your income when you retire. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a monthly taxable benefit, and if you qualify, you&#8217;ll receive CPP for the rest of your life.<\/p>\n<p>So, here&#8217;s what you need to know about CPP in April, including the payment date and how much money you could get.<\/p>\n<p>Who is eligible for the Canada Pension Plan?<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible to receive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/benefits\/publicpensions\/cpp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CPP<\/a>, you must:<\/p>\n<p>be at least 60 years oldhave made at least one valid contribution to the CPP<\/p>\n<p>According to the government, valid contributions can either be from work you did in Canada or from credits received from a spouse\/common-law partner after a divorce or separation.<\/p>\n<p>How much money can you get from Canada Pension Plan payments?<\/p>\n<p>The amount of money you get from CPP depends on your age, contributions and average earnings.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026, the maximum CPP payment at age 65 is $1,507.65 per month.<\/p>\n<p>The average CPP payment for new beneficiaries at age 65 in April and June of this year is $925.35 per month.<\/p>\n<p>Your CPP retirement pension amounts won&#8217;t be reduced if you work while receiving it. <\/p>\n<p>When is the next Canada Pension Plan payment date?<\/p>\n<p>The next CPP payment date is Tuesday, April 28, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>How do you receive Canada Pension Plan payments?<\/p>\n<p>CPP payments are made by Service Canada through direct deposit or cheque.<\/p>\n<p>Your payment will be deposited into your bank account if you chose the direct deposit option.
