As injuries increasingly become a theme at Colts training camp, there is some good news.<\/p>\n

After Kenny Moore II\u2019s knee injury<\/a> he suffered on Sunday was deemed to not be serious, the Colts got a positive update on wide receiver Alec Pierce.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler<\/a> reported that Pierce, who suffered a groin injury during Sunday\u2019s practice, is considered day-to-day. FOwler added the injury \u201cdoes not appear to be serious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pierce had left practice briefly before trying to make a return, ultimately coming off the field again.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a sigh of relief for Pierce, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract looking to build off his breakout 2024 campaign.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old hauled in 37 receptions for a career-high 824 yards and 7 touchdowns. His 22.3 yards per reception was also best in the NFL, emerging as one of the league\u2019s best big-play targets.<\/p>\n

While he will still occupy that deep ball threat in the offense, Pierce must prove he can impact other areas of the field if he wants to stick in Indy.<\/p>\n

“This time, especially right now and into training camp, you try different things with him,” head coach Shane Steichen said during OTAs<\/a> in May. “Obviously, things he wants to get better and improve at, certain routes to keep getting better at and keep working those things so he can improve in that and we can add that to his game as well.”<\/p>\n
