To commemorate the kickoff, Tim Hortons at 670 Sterling Lyon Parkway hosted a cookie decorating contest with local sports personalities, including Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers alumni. They also invited radio and TV hosts, including CHVN’s Sylvia St. Cyr.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Supporting Kids Who Need Rehabilitation<\/p>\n
Joining the crew to decorate cookies was the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation’s ambassador, 3-year-old Ava and her parents. Ava has cerebral Palsy as well as epilepsy.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“We are a local charity that supports children and youth living in our province living with a range of disabilities,” says Jane, the Executive Director of the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation. “Ava is our 2026\/2027 ambassador. She’s so special, supported in many ways.”<\/p>\n
Ava was at the celebration in a specialized walker created specifically for her by the Foundation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Every year we try to give some of the children her age specialized equipment and this is the first time we’ve been able to do it here. For this piece of equipment she’s sitting in, came just a couple of weeks ago, and funded by proceeds raised by this campaign last year.”<\/p>\n

Boxes of cookies will also be sold to support ICYA’s Meals for Kids program throughout the campaign. This is the second year they are partnering together to help kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This is Tim Hortons 30th anniversary of their Smile Cookie campaign.
