Three people have been charged in a bizarre case in Calgary that involved stealing human teeth.<\/p>\n
Calgary police say between Jan. 5 and 26, four businesses in the northeast communities of Vista Heights were broken into and had nearly $235,000 worth of property stolen.<\/p>\n
Investigators executed search warrants on two homes and two vehicles on 17 Avenue SW on Jan. 27 and Jan. 30.<\/p>\n
During the search, officers recovered rare coins, laptops, tools and equipment consistent with melting down precious medals, and human teeth that had valuable metals removed.<\/p>\n
The recovered items total about $35,000, police say.<\/p>\n
Charged in the case are 43-year-old Steven Edward Hart, Alston Jason Van Wezel, and 49-year-old Erin Lindsay Emerson. Members of the trio are facing various charges, including break and enter, breaching a judicial order, and drug possession.<\/p>\n
