Michael Jackson<\/a>\u2019s eldest son, Prince Jackson<\/a>, is weighing in on the \u201cmost magical\u201d part of the Michael biopic.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor those of us who were lucky enough to grow up with The Jackson 5 and the Jacksons, hopefully, it will [reinstate] that feeling of nostalgia and fun and family,\u201d Prince, 29, said during an interview with ABC News<\/a> on Thursday, April 23.<\/p>\n

Prince also hopes that the movie, which he executive produced, will reach the younger generation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that it contextualizes the growth and the rise to stardom and the hard work and effort that my father put into [his career],\u201d Prince continued. \u201cOverall, just being a really fun, entertaining time for children of all ages.\u201d<\/p>\n

The movie \u2014 which hits theaters on Friday, April 24 \u2014 stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael\u2019s nephew and Prince\u2019s cousin, along with Colman Domingo, Miles Teller and Nia Long, among others. Prince said on Thursday that it was \u201cone of the greatest experiences of my life\u201d seeing Jaafar, 29, transform into Michael on screen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time that I saw him in person in his hair and makeup was really an emotional shock because I had not seen my father in a long time,\u201d Prince said, holding back tears. \u201cJafaar just embodied him and brought him back in that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince recalled it being \u201cdifficult to maintain and keep composure,\u201d so he took a \u201cstep outside.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also confessed that \u201cauthenticity\u201d was the biggest hurdle of making the film.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to approach it from a way that audiences \u2014 again, of all ages \u2014 could understand who he was as a person,\u201d Prince continued. \u201cOur goal was to tell the story of Michael.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince noted that he \u201clearned\u201d a lot about his late father through the moviemaking process and has even more appreciation for Michael\u2019s rise to fame.<\/p>\n

Known as The King of Pop, Michael kicked off a wildly successful solo music career after starting in The Jackson 5 alongside his siblings. Michael died at age 50<\/a> in June 2009. Along with Prince, he was also the father of daughter Paris, 28, and son Bigi, 24.<\/p>\n

Prince noted on Thursday that his extended family\u2019s reaction to the movie has been \u201coverwhelmingly positive,\u201d revealing that several of them spent time on set. (Paris and Janet Jackson, however, were notably absent<\/a> from the film\u2019s recent Los Angeles premiere.)<\/p>\n
