Police are investigating after a man died following a stabbing in Vancouver\u2019s Downtown Eastside Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of East Hastings Street and Dunlevy Avenue around 12:40 a.m.<\/p>\n
The victim, 36-year-old Matthew MacFarlane, was transported to hospital, where he died of his injuries.<\/p>\n
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo arrests have been made.\u201d<\/p>\n
The VPD says it\u2019s the third homicide in the city since the start of the year.<\/p>\n
On Jan. 20, a 48-year-old man died of stabbing injuries in East Vancouver.<\/p>\n
