SPRINGFIELD, N.J. \u2013 The University of Pennsylvania men’s golf team is in third place after the first day at the Ivy League Championship. The three-day, 54-hole event is taking place on the par-72 Lower Course at the famed Baltusrol Golf Club. #FightOnPenn<\/p>\n \u00a0

\nPenn shot 11-over-par 299 as a team. That had the Quakers behind Harvard (286, -2) and Princeton (294, +6). Yale was fourth, four shots behind the Red and Blue at 15-over-par 303.

\nHayden Adams<\/a> had a strong first day to lead the Quakers, finishing as just one of two players in the field with an under-par score (71, -1). That left him second out of 35 golfers, behind only Harvard’s Barry Zhang (69, -3). Adams also was alone with the best par-4 score of the day (3.80) and was tied for first with four birdies.

\nPlaying his first Ivy Championship round, freshman Arjun Caprihan<\/a> shot an even-par 72 and ended the day tied for third with five other players. He also had four birdies on Friday. Ryan Chang<\/a> and Kayden Wang<\/a> both shot 78 to score for the Quakers, while Wesley Hu<\/a> finished Friday with an 81.
