{"id":627272,"date":"2026-04-25T07:43:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T07:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/627272\/"},"modified":"2026-04-25T07:43:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T07:43:13","slug":"toronto-blue-jays-nathan-lukes-leaves-game-vs-cleveland-guardians-with-injury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/627272\/","title":{"rendered":"Toronto Blue Jays\u2019 Nathan Lukes leaves game vs. Cleveland Guardians with injury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">TORONTO (AP) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/toronto-blue-jays\/238\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/toronto-blue-jays\/238\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> outfielder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/nathan-lukes\/875215\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/nathan-lukes\/875215\" target=\"_blank\">Nathan Lukes<\/a> exited Friday\u2019s game against Cleveland in the first inning because of a sore left hamstring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Lukes doubled to right field to lead off the first against Cleveland\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/gavin-williams-575885\/1055792\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/gavin-williams-575885\/1055792\" target=\"_blank\">Gavin Williams<\/a>, but walked off the field following a brief discussion with the trainer and manager John Schneider.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cEncouraging that it felt a little cramp-like,\u201d Schneider said, adding that Lukes had left to undergo an MRI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/davis-schneider\/1055763\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/davis-schneider\/1055763\" target=\"_blank\">Davis Schneider<\/a> replaced Lukes, who came in batting .235 with no homers and eight RBIs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/davis-schneider\/1055763\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/davis-schneider\/1055763\" target=\"_blank\">Davis Schneider<\/a> went to left field and Jes\u00fas S\u00e1nchez moved from left to right.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The double was the 11th hit in seven games for Lukes, who had previously been struggling with dizziness and vision problems caused by vertigo.
