All three games in the series have been decided in overtime.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought out of the three games this was our worst game, you know, for us, from start to finish,\u201d Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. \u201cIt was fortunate for us that we took this to overtime. We gave up three pretty much full-ice breakaways, the goalie kept us in it, so that was a little disappointing in that sense.\u201d<\/p>\n
Texier and Kirby Dach<\/a> each had a goal and an assist, Zachary Bolduc<\/a> had two assists, and Jakub Dobes<\/a>\u00a0made 15 saves for the Canadiens, the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic Division.<\/p>\n Dach experienced the highs of a big night after enduring media scrutiny resulting from icing the puck and then losing coverage on the play that led to J.J. Moser<\/a>\u2019s game-winner in Tampa Bay\u2019s 3-2 victory in Game 2 on Tuesday. St. Louis moved Dach from right wing to center with Texier and Bolduc on a newly formed line that combined for six points.<\/p>\n \u201cThey put (Dach) up on the jumbotron in warmups and he felt the love from the fans, and he gave it right back with that performance,\u201d Montreal defenseman Arber Xhekaj<\/a>\u00a0said. \u201cWe\u2019re athletes, we get paid a lot of money to do our thing, and the way he handled that gave us a boost of confidence and we\u2019re proud of him.\u201d<\/p>\n Dach was a bit taken aback at the crowd\u2019s encouraging reception.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t really expect it, so it was nice,\u201d Dach said. \u201cThe fans have been unbelievable for us all year, and for me, they\u2019ve stuck by my side. It definitely meant a lot, but I think as a group we pulled together and used the crowd to our advantage, and we were finally able to win this game.\u201d<\/p>\n Brayden Point<\/a> and Brandon Hagel<\/a> scored for the Lightning, the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic. Andrei Vasilevskiy<\/a>\u00a0made 26 saves.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought they had the majority of the chances,\u201d Point said. \u201c\u2018Vasy\u2019 gave us a chance to win the game, and (there were) some D-zone turnovers and the puck goes in. So I thought we needed to be better.\u201d<\/p>\n Texier and his new linemates gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead at 4:53 of the first period.
