Coldest city in B.C.: Merritt sets 102-year-old temperature record<\/p>\n

The recent sunny weather across the Eastern Fraser Valley and Interior has not been accompanied by warm temperatures, especially in one B.C. town.<\/p>\n
On Friday, April 24, Merritt was the coldest place in the province as temperatures dropped to -7.2 C. This broke a 102-year-old record, as the previous April 24 low in Merritt was -5.6 C, occurring in 1924.<\/p>\n
Nakusp and Trail also set cold records on Friday, both reaching -3.1 C.<\/p>\n
