Yet tucked into Esquimalt, just west of Victoria, Rosemead House truly puts the British into British Columbia,\u201d CN says.<\/p>\n<p>CN says that it cost $25 million and over a decade of work to turn what was formerly a Tudor-style building that was over a century old into what it describes now as a \u201cmaximalist, Anglophile fantasy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Behind the transformation are owner and developer Lenny Moy and interior designer Karen Wichert.<\/p>\n<p>Local luxury hotel interiors are sleek, serene, and historically grounded with a West Coast flair, Moy told CN, adding that \u201cthere\u2019s no beige here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted colours to pop,\u201d Moy said. CN suggests that they do indeed pop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmenities mix history with modern luxury: Kohler smart toilets, heated bathroom floors, $23,000 Swedish Duxiana mattresses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Each of the hotel\u2019s rooms features an Edwardian writing desk, original architectural details, and layered textiles, including William Morris wallpapers.
