No matter what happens this afternoon, it’s safe to say the Sens are not advancing past the first round. It took a lot of effort to get here, and it was a fun ride to follow, but ultimately, the team is too injured and too overwhelmed to potentially win 4 in a row against a team like the Carolina Hurricanes.<\/p>\n
The Hurricanes have been good this series, but not even close to their potential. They will be motivated to end this series today and take advantage of a longer break before they face the Flyers, who will probably give them a bit more physicality and trouble than the Sens, who play a different brand of hockey.<\/p>\n
For the Sens, I am sure every person in the organization knows what a tall order it would be to come back from a 0-3 deficit, but they all want to avoid the embarrassment of a sweep at home. The problem with that idea is that frustration seems to set in with the players and even the coach who called both Tkachuk and St\u00fctzle “average”. I don’t disagree with him, but I can’t imagine the players are too happy hearing that being said in public. <\/p>\n
Brady Tkachuk is saying all the “right” things about believing and making a great story, but at the end of the day, it’s actions that matter, and his actions haven’t been anywhere close to productive for the team.<\/p>\n
