\u201cStorage Wars\u201d\u00a0cast members\u00a0Laura\u00a0and\u00a0Dan Dotson\u00a0claim that\u00a0prior to Darrell Sheets\u2019 tragic death at age 67<\/a>, the reality star\u00a0feared for his life due to alleged cyberbullying<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis family told us that this has been happening for three years,\u201d Laura told Us Weekly on Friday<\/a>. \u201c[It happens to] even strong men that you think aren\u2019t gonna get their feelings hurt. Cyberbullying is a real thing. This made him feel less than, and it really obviously bothered him. He was terrified for his life [and] for the people around him. He didn\u2019t know why he was being targeted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheets was found dead in his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis family told us that this has been happening for three years,\u201d Laura (pictured here with Sheets, Dan, Barry Weiss, Brandi Passante, Jarrod Schulz, Dave Hester and Brandon Sheets in 2010) revealed on Friday. \u201cHe was terrified for his life [and] for the people around him. According to a press release from the Lake Havasu City Police Department, the business owner died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Sheets was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office for \u201cfurther investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had other things also,\u201d Laura \u2014 who appeared on the A&E hit alongside her husband Dan and Sheets prior to his 2023 retirement \u2014 continued. <\/p>\n

She added that \u201chis health and certain things\u201d could have also \u201ccontributed\u201d to his passing.<\/p>\n

\u201cRelationships, love interests and stuff that would go up and down, but [he] truly, truly was a wonderful, loving person who believed in God,\u201d Laura detailed.<\/p>\n

The couple also reflected on losing another friend to suicide \u2014 with Dan remembering that Sheets was in disbelief.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe says, \u2018I can\u2019t believe anybody that could do that,\u2019\u201d Laura recalled. \u201c\u2018They must have so much pain.\u2019 So it was so hard for us to really believe that this happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just weeks before his death,\u00a0Sheets spoke out about the alleged cyberbullies\u00a0in a Facebook post, per Us Weekly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been hacked by a very evil person,\u201d he wrote at the time. \u201cThe clown. [The posts] are not done by me, they are being done by \u2026 very evil people.\u201d \/ SplashNews.com<\/p>\n

Sheets said that while it wasn\u2019t him, \u201cpeople are showing up\u201d to his work wanting to \u201charm\u201d him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe police are aware of this but [their] hands are tied because Facebook allows this and it is very bad,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Allegedly, the television personality\u2019s \u201ccyberbully stalker\u201d had harassed others in the area as well. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe has been going after other small businesses in town and harassing them, using my name,\u201d Sheets claimed. \u201cIt is not me! He has extorted money from many people in this town acting like a handyman. This has been going on for three years with him, and the things he says are very damaging. This is a felony called cyberbullying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, public information officer for the Lake Havasu City Police Department in Arizona, told Page Six Wednesday, \u201cWe are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to his passing, Sheets had retired to Arizona and ran the antique shop Havasu Show Me Your Junk.<\/p>\n

The A&E star was a fan-favorite on \u201cStorage Wars,\u201d a show that follows professional buyers who bid on unknown contents found in abandoned storage units. <\/p>\n

Sheets was featured in 163 episodes of the series between 2010 and 2023 alongside his son Brandon.<\/p>\n

While on the series, he earned the nickname \u201cThe Gambler\u201d due to his predilection to overbid for units based on a gut instinct.
