\u201cReal Time<\/a>\u201d host Bill Maher<\/a> called out President Donald Trump<\/a> Friday over his series of \u201cbullshit\u201d claims about the ongoing war on Iran<\/a>, calling his baffling declarations of victory a \u201cproblem\u201d as negotiations amid the current U.S.-Iran ceasefire<\/a> have yet to produce results.<\/p>\n

Maher noted during his opening monologue that Trump has \u201cerratically\u201d veered from threats to destroy Iranian civilization<\/a> earlier this month to being \u201cso chill\u201d about the conflict. Trump indeed claimed Thursday<\/a> that he is \u201cthe least pressured person ever to be in this position.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump has frequently described his war as an \u201cexcursion\u201d<\/a> or \u201cmilitary operation.\u201d He openly admitted last month<\/a> that there\u2019s \u201ca legal reason for that,\u201d stating that a U.S. president requires congressional approval before officially \u2014 and legally \u2014 declaring war.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now it\u2019s like, is it really a war?\u201d Maher asked Friday<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s more of a \u2018situation,\u2019 really, I think. And the problem is he keeps saying we won, and we didn\u2019t. We didn\u2019t. Hormuz is not open. The people did not do an uprising. The regime is still in place. We did not win. Sorry!\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cAnd in social media, he keeps rubbing their noses in the victory we don\u2019t have. Every day \u2014 every day \u2014 he tweets out stuff that\u2019s inflammatory and contradictory, all these bullshit claims. I gotta say, you can say what you want about his negotiating tactics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher then quipped that \u201cthe silent treatment\u201d is one tactic Trump hasn\u2019t mastered.<\/p>\n

Trump recently extended an originally two-week U.S.-Iran ceasefire deal and has frequently claimed the war is already \u201cwon.\u201d He said last month<\/a> \u201cit was over\u201d in \u201cthe first hour\u201d of the conflict and declared the latest ceasefire a \u201ctotal and complete victory\u201d<\/a> for the U.S.<\/p>\n

Maher was all for bombing Iran<\/a> when Trump launched initial U.S. strikes in February, which led Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world\u2019s oil passes. Maher even mocked former Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> at the time for opposing the war, and recently needed his guests to explain<\/a> why the U.S. couldn\u2019t just forcibly reopen the strait.<\/p>\n

He has since urged Trump to \u201ccut and run\u201d<\/a> from the war, admitting earlier this month that he believed bombing Tehran would liberate the country and see Iranians rise up against the regime\u2019s armed forces.<\/p>\n
