{"id":628944,"date":"2026-04-26T02:12:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T02:12:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/628944\/"},"modified":"2026-04-26T02:12:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T02:12:08","slug":"timberwolves-divincenzo-edwards-exit-game-4-vs-nuggets-with-injuries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/628944\/","title":{"rendered":"Timberwolves&#8217; DiVincenzo, Edwards exit Game 4 vs. Nuggets with injuries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/minnesota-timberwolves\/\" class=\"sn-team-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-team=\"minnesota-timberwolves\" data-league=\"nba\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> lost two key members of their backcourt in Saturday&#8217;s Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets.<\/p>\n<p>Guards Anthony Edwards (knee) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/basketball\/nba\/players\/donte-divincenzo\/9cfad453-b323-43dc-a066-6cd0a21745ad\" class=\"sn-player-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-player=\"9cfad453-b323-43dc-a066-6cd0a21745ad\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Donte DiVincenzo<\/a> (lower leg) suffered injuries in the first half and were forced to leave the game.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards appeared to hyperextend his knee after defending a shot at the rim by Nuggets forward Cam Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old went down to the court and needed help to go to the Minnesota locker room.<\/p>\n<p>There was no immediate word on the severity of the injury.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards, a two-time all-star, played 17 minutes before leaving, collecting five points and three rebounds on 1-of-3 shooting.<\/p>\n<p>During the regular season, he averaged 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 60 games.<\/p>\n<p>DiVincenzo suffered his injury less than two minutes into the game. After missing a 3-pointer from the wing, he went to chase his rebound but fell to the ground and held the back of his right calf.<\/p>\n<p>DiVincenzo has been an important piece of Minnesota&#8217;s rotation this season.
