On Saturday afternoon, the Boston Red Sox<\/a> had their best win of the season when they beat the Orioles<\/a> (in Baltimore) by a score of 17-1.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox were led by Willson Contreras<\/a>, who had two hits, one home run and five RBI\u2019s.<\/p>\n

After the game, news came out that the Red Sox are firing manager Alex Cora.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Jeff Passan wrote:<\/a> \u201cThe Boston Red Sox fired manager Alex Cora, hitting coach Peter Fatse, bench coach R\u00e1mon Vazquez and game-planning coach Jason Varitek, sources tell ESPN. While the Red Sox won today, they are 10-17 and in last in the American League East. Massive change is coming in Boston.\u201d<\/p>\n

UPDATE: Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY reported who will replace Cora.<\/p>\n

Nightengale wrote: <\/a>\u201cChad Tracy<\/a> will be the Red Sox interim manager. Chad Epperson will serve as the club\u2019s Interim Third Base Coach. Collin Hetzler will serve as part of the club\u2019s Major League hitting staff.\u201d<\/p>\n
