Based on the reaction online on Friday night, you\u2019d think the Edmonton Oilers<\/a> were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs. It may not have been that bad, but they did lay quite the egg against the Anaheim Ducks, losing 7-4<\/a>, and now face a 2-1 deficit<\/a> in this first-round series.<\/p>\n

Series will be done in 5. <\/p>\n

Oilers better make some changes in the offseason.<\/p>\n

The Oilers deserve this for not firing Knob and trading for a waiver wire 5M goalie<\/p>\n

Edm’s best players are causing their problems. Unbelievable<\/p>\n

The problem besides the obvious is they\u2019ve played more games than any other team now including the Panthers and the league didn\u2019t do them any favours by always giving them more games played during the season. And the refs. Not nearly enough powerplays. \u2013 Dean Vince via X<\/p>\n

They have solid lines. Play them all. Even Gretzky needed his teammates. I don\u2019t know as much about hockey as those involved, but mixing it up can tip the scales. No? Yes?? As usual, when things go wrong for the Edmonton Oilers, you have fans suggesting that this is it for McDavid, that he\u2019s gone if the Ducks win this series, or recommendations to sit Bouchard as if he\u2019s the only one playing poorly right now.<\/p>\n

Has fatigue caught up with this Oilers team? It\u2019s hard to say; some fans aren\u2019t ready to towel in just yet, while others are unsure of what to make of the team at the moment.<\/p>\n

Why is everyone acting like this is their first rodeo. They been down against LA twice been down to Van, flames, Dallas x2, down 3-0 against Florida and forced game seven, they didn\u2019t have it tonight. LOTS of hockey left. I could understand blaming the coach if the depth wasn\u2019t showing up but is Knoblauch supposed to teach the best players in the world how to play hockey?<\/p>\n

I wonder what changes will happen with the Oilers when the ducks win this series in 5 games.<\/p>\n

Knoblauch survive? Bowman? Jackson? Can’t see Coffey coming back for a 3rd try at bat here.<\/p>\n

Atleast Katz has Connor to make his money for 1 more year.<\/p>\n

Knoblauch is being categorically outcoached and outclassed and nobody is talking about it. Special teams, 5 on 5 rush, usually strengths of the Oilers have been obliterated all series. Quenneville is eating him alive. #LetsGoOilers<\/a><\/p>\n
