Regardless, if Nicolson defends her interim WBC gold against Mariah Turner in Melbourne on Wednesday night, she is then set to call out no less than four MVP stars \u2013 Amanda Serrano, Ellie Scotney, Cherneka Johnson, even Tiara Brown.<\/p>\n
The declaration comes as the popular Queenslander has already been branded disrespectful, and even had her selling power questioned by MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian.<\/p>\n
Yet while Nicolson admits her and Bidarian \u201chaven\u2019t had the nicest friendship, I\u2019ll be honest\u201d, she stressed a win over Turner on Wednesday night will ensure the two groups have to work together.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Because] They need me,\u201d Nicolson said to open fight week for Wednesday\u2019s headliner. \u201cThey don\u2019t want to admit it, but they need me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m one of the biggest names in female boxing in the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd as much as they hate that, it is what it is.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo line them up. I\u2019ll beat them all and be cashing cheques.<\/p>\n

Certainly, there is no doubting the huge impact Youtuber-tuned-boxer Paul has had on the female fight game.<\/p>\n
Apart from having ignited his own crazy crossover career \u2013 with bouts against the likes of Anthony Joshua, Nate Diaz, even Mike Tyson — Paul has also gone all in on the women\u2019s side of the sport.<\/p>\n
The push includes MVP having already signed five of ESPN\u2019s top 10 women fighters \u2013 including Serrano and Alycia Baumgardner \u2013 while also stacking the American\u2019s undercards with female fights, thereby showcasing those athletes to sizeable, new audiences.<\/p>\n
In May, the man worth over $200 million will also promote Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano, and has snapped up a host of Aussie talent including Ebonie Bridges, Desley Robinson and undisputed bantamweight Cherneka Johnson.<\/p>\n
Yet for the past couple of years, Nicolson has been caught in an escalating feud with MVP co-founder Bidarian, who alongside Paul runs the promotional company.<\/p>\n
Most recently, the former UFC executive accused Nicolson of ducking Scotney, while also questioning the Australian\u2019s ability to not only sell tickets but even make the super bantamweight limit.<\/p>\n
The accusations continue an ongoing drama between the two parties, and one which initially kicked off way back when Nicolson not only first called out Serrano, but made her own ducking claims when the Puerto Rican vacated a WBC strap rather than facing her.<\/p>\n
Now again, Nicolson fears England\u2019s Scotney will also move up rather than face her once she becomes mandatory with a victory on Wednesday night. <\/p>\n

Asked on fight eve about her ongoing beef with promoters MVP, Nicolson grinned: \u201cI think Jake Paul has been good for women\u2019s boxing, bringing more eyes to the fights and more opportunities for the girls.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut Nikisa and I, we haven\u2019t had the nicest friendship, I\u2019ll be honest.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur relationship isn\u2019t great.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Serrano and her team took me wanting to fight her very personally for some reason.<\/p>\n
\u201cWho knows why? That\u2019s boxing.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you\u2019re the undisputed champion, you get called out. Especially when you\u2019ve got a mandatory challenger \u2013 like I was \u2013 who wants to prove themselves.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I don\u2019t know why that got taken so badly. But it did. I don\u2019t think they liked my self belief, and I don\u2019t think they liked my confidence.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd things haven\u2019t gone well ever since.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven now years later, and with her boxing up a weight class, there is still beef. But whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked her thoughts, specifically, on the influence MVP now has over women\u2019s boxing and Nicolson took a long pause before continuing: \u201cUmmmm, I like the idea \u2026 I like the concept of them refreshing women\u2019s boxing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like that the girls are getting opportunities and being paid well.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just not sure about their business model.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t like the all-female cards.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve spent the past decade trying to move away from women\u2019s boxing and men\u2019s boxing, but just have boxing.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd they\u2019re going back on that a bit. I don\u2019t love that.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt shouldn\u2019t be women\u2019s boxing. It should be boxing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI also don\u2019t like that they\u2019re using three-minute rounds with the WBC to get out of mandatory defences.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd it\u2019s not just me. Across the board it\u2019s happening with a lot of other girls as well who want their big opportunity and aren\u2019t getting it after becoming mandatory.<\/p>\n
\u201cI find that annoying. It\u2019s clear three-minute rounds don\u2019t work for female boxing.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut they keep trying to force it down everyone\u2019s throats.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe argument that it will bring more stoppages, that hasn\u2019t happened.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve seen so many boring fights that have been put on over three minute rounds.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re going the distance and no one is even watching by the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

So as for what message she would have in victory Wednesday night? <\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t really have a message for Nakisa,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut he knows that in women\u2019s boxing, the big fights will include my name moving forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cI won\u2019t be denied.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to keep knocking on the door. Keep calling them out.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I\u2019m going to keep on winning.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs far as I\u2019m aware too, Matchroom and MVP are on good terms and talking together about making big fights.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I assume that includes me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel sometimes like [MVP] wants to make the fights work with everyone but me. But we\u2019re not going to make it personal.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd if they want to use Matchroom\u2019s other champions like Katie Taylor, Elif Nur Turhan, and Sandy Ryan, there will have to be some give and take.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhich could mean I fight Ellie Scotney, Tiara Brown, Amanda Serrano \u2026 even all three.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat would be nice.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo while I do think MVP are trying to keep a lot of the belts in house, I think there will be opportunities there.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I believe I\u2019m the best super bantamweight in the world, including Ellie Scotney. And I believe I beat most featherweights as well \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
