OnePlus has quietly unveiled the\u00a0OnePlus Watch 4, confirming key specs and design details just as reports swirl about the brand scaling back operations in parts of Europe. <\/p>\n
There\u2019s no official link between the two. However, the timing makes this low-key launch feel a little more loaded than usual.<\/p>\n
On paper, the Watch 4<\/a> is a modest evolution rather than a full rethink. The biggest change is the move to a\u00a0titanium case, replacing the stainless steel build from the Watch 3<\/a>. It\u2019s slightly thinner and lighter as a result, and comes in two finishes:\u00a0Evergreen Titanium\u00a0and\u00a0Midnight Titanium. <\/p>\n Durability is still a focus, with\u00a0MIL-STD-810H certification<\/a>, plus IP68<\/a>, IP69<\/a> and 5ATM ratings<\/a>. This means it should handle everything from rain to seawater without complaint.<\/p>\n \n Advertisement <\/p>\n Internally, it runs on Qualcomm\u2019s\u00a0Snapdragon Wear W5<\/a>, paired with a low-power co-processor to stretch battery life. OnePlus claims up to\u00a0five days in smart mode\u00a0or\u00a016 days in power saver mode. This is backed by a 646mAh battery that fully charges in around 75 minutes, one of the stronger stamina claims in Wear OS land.<\/p>\n The display also gets a bump, with a\u00a0466 x 466 LTPO OLED panel\u00a0hitting up to\u00a03,000 nits\u00a0peak brightness and protected by sapphire crystal. It runs\u00a0Wear OS 6 with OxygenOS Watch 8. Arguably, this is the most meaningful upgrade here, as it brings it closer in line with newer Android smartwatch features and app support.<\/p>\n Fitness tracking remains comprehensive, with\u00a0100+ sports modes, automatic detection for select workouts, and sensors covering heart rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature and more. You also get dual-band GPS and NFC payments via Google Wallet. Furthermore, you get the usual connectivity suite.<\/p>\n That said, this isn\u2019t a dramatic leap forward. The Watch 4 closely mirrors the Oppo Watch X3<\/a> launched in China. Moreover, upgrades over the Watch 3 are fairly incremental beyond the new materials and software.<\/p>\n
