Nedra Talley Ross, the last surviving member of The Ronettes, has died.<\/p>\n
The iconic girl group\u2019s official Facebook page announced the sad news Sunday with a statement on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Nedra Talley Ross\u2019 passing. She was a light to those who knew and loved her,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n Nedra Talley Ross, the last surviving member of The Ronettes, has died. She\u2019s seen here in March 2007. Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cAs a founding member of The Ronettes, along with her beloved cousins Ronnie and Estelle, Nedra\u2019s voice, style and spirit helped define a sound that would change music. Her contribution to the group\u2019s story and their defining influence will live forever,\u201d the statement continues.<\/p>\n \u201cRest peacefully dear Nedra. Thanks for the magic.\u201d<\/p>\n The cause of death is unclear. She was 80 years old.<\/p>\n Her daughter Nedra K. Ross also posted about her mother\u2019s death<\/a> on Facebook, sharing that she died Sunday morning.<\/p>\n \u201cAt approximately 8:30 this morning our mother Nedra Talley Ross went home to be with the Lord,\u201d she wrote. \u201cShe was safe in her own bed at home with her family close, knowing she was loved.\u201d<\/p>\n The Ronettes consisted of lead singer Ronnie Spector, her older sister Estelle Bennett, and Talley Ross, who was their cousin.<\/p>\n The iconic girl group, pictured here in January 1964, spawned huge hits like \u201cBe My Baby\u201d and \u201cBaby, I Love You.\u201d Getty Images<\/p>\n The Ronettes were highly influential in the \u201960s.
