When asked about drafting players with overlapping skill sets, general manager Eric DeCosta made it clear that was by design, not coincidence.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Addressing how similar players like Ja\u2019Kobi Lane, Elijah Sarratt, Matt Hibner and Josh Cuevas fit together, DeCosta explained:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think the biggest thing is just that they\u2019re versatile players that do some really good things. They\u2019re not exactly the same. Our vision for Ja\u2019Kobi [Lane] is probably a little bit different than maybe the vision for [Elijah] Sarratt\u2026 I love the fact that they\u2019re both versatile players who can do different things\u2026 In our offense\u2026 versatility and flexibility and being able to do a lot of different things is really important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That philosophy shows up all over this class. Baltimore isn\u2019t boxing players into roles; they\u2019re building flexibility into the roster.
