A man has been arrested after being spotted with what appeared to be a handgun on a street in West Yorkshire.

Armed officers were called to Frank Street in Bradford at 18:11 BST on Sunday and the man was incapacitated by what is known as an Attenuating Energy Projectile (AEP), which a police spokesperson described as a “less-lethal option for firearms situations”.

The 36-year-old man was taken to hospital but was not believed to have received any life-threatening or serious injuries, said West Yorkshire Police.
