WNBA star Paige Bueckers is putting all the questions about her relationship with Azzi Fudd to rest.<\/p>\n

The Wings guard used media day Monday to tell reporters and the public that \u201cme and Azzi\u2019s personal relationship is nobody\u2019s business but our own, and what we choose to share is completely up to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their romantic relationship got thrown back into the spotlight<\/a> after the Wings selected Fudd with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft earlier this month, resulting in questions surrounding how the dynamic of romantic partners playing on the same team would work \u2014 something that has happened several times in the league.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bueckers publicly announced her relationship<\/a> with Fudd last summer and has sparsely addressed it since.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMe and Azzi have always been the utmost professional,\u201d she said before taking questions from reporters. \u201cWe\u2019ve always conducted ourselves as such, and we\u2019ve never let anything that happens off the court carry onto the court. That\u2019s what we continue to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe and Azzi are not new to this. We\u2019ve been doing this for a long time. We have countless reps at it. We have a lot of experience with it, so we will continue to use that experience to show up and be professionals, great teammates, great leaders, the hardest workers, and continue to show up and do our job and help the Dallas Wings win basketball games.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair were teammates at UConn and won a national championship in 2025, with their friendship dating back to their high school days when they met at USA Basketball\u2019s U16 national team camp.<\/p>\n

Bueckers said Monday that this would be the only time that she would speak about their relationship and any further questions would be answered by redirecting back to the statement she made or discussing one of her teammates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Fudd was asked about their relationship during her introductory press conference, and a Wings media relations staffer jumped in to say that players don\u2019t comment on their personal lives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Monday, Bueckers also seemed to address those who had insinuated Fudd\u2019s selection may have been influenced by the fact that she is dating the Wings\u2019 star player.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAzzi Fudd was a No. 1 draft pick because she earned it, and it had nothing to do with me and everything to do with who she is as a human being, who she is a basketball player, her resilience, her strength and her career-best year at UConn, Bueckers said. \u201cSo, Azzi is her own great individual person, and she should be celebrated as such.\u201d<\/p>\n
