Reportedly, he was earning<\/a> $4.5 million a year, but had results immediately in his first season, helping Vegas win the Stanley Cup.Sportsnet\u2019s\u00a0Elliotte Friedman spoke about a \u201cfrayed relationship\u201d<\/a> between Cassidy and Golden Knights players that stemmed from the playoff series against the Oilers, where Edmonton beat them in five games.<\/p>\n With that one season left in his contract, teams must seek permission from the Golden Knights to speak to Cassidy. Previously, Cassidy was at the helm of the Boston Bruins from 2016-17 to 2021-22, including a loss in the Stanley Cup Final in 2018-19.
