Sure, the designer themselves admits it looks a little AI slop-esque, but it&#8217;s a neat alternative way to control your speakers without changing how the app works, and who doesn&#8217;t prefer playing with a physical-looking control rather than sliding a dot up a line?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\/comments\/1s2z257\/sonoshaus_vibe_coded_a_vintage_stereo_receiver\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\/comments\/1s2z257\/sonoshaus_vibe_coded_a_vintage_stereo_receiver\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sonoshaus &#8211; Vibe Coded a Vintage Stereo Receiver Sonos Controller<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">r\/sonos<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-17233391-4b20-47f1-a6c4-95d7716d7b88\">There are some apps out there that are unabashedly Sonos app alternatives. A user called u\/SenseChoice7969 used Claude Code to make an app called <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\/comments\/1s2qff8\/i_used_claude_code_to_build_a_custom_sonos_arc\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\/comments\/1s2qff8\/i_used_claude_code_to_build_a_custom_sonos_arc\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arc Controller<\/a>, which brings loads of functionality for Sonos&#8217; high-end soundbar: you can set up sound profiles with custom combinations of volume, EQ and subwoofer use, all of which can change when you toggle them or at specific times.<\/p>\n<p>The user explains how they could have added more functions, but they &#8220;just needed quick access to the settings I actually change&#8221;. But it feels appropriate to include here anyway). The app has support for various languages, dark mode and accent colors, and it works with various music sources.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\/comments\/1s20zsz\/native_macos_sonos_controller_open_source_apple\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\/comments\/1s20zsz\/native_macos_sonos_controller_open_source_apple\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Native macOS Sonos controller \u2014 open source, Apple Silicon, v2 update<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/sonos\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">r\/sonos<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-e4cd92b8-23e9-4fb2-b6ab-d973c66bbb42\">Sonos&#8217; app is coming on leaps and bounds, but since it&#8217;s so easy to turn your preferences into an alternative using AI, we&#8217;ll likely continue to see people home-brewing their own.<\/p>\n<p>But Sonos would do well to take a peek at some of the above, to see if there are any features it can pinch for its own software. However, it&#8217;s unlikely that people will be flocking to swap the app for these tools \u2014 most are available via Github, meaning you need to build them yourself to run on your computer, and that&#8217;s not most people&#8217;s speed. But, for the enthusiasts, it might be worthwhile.<\/p>\n<p>Vibe coding, like any other use of generative AI, is <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/pro\/vibe-coding-convenience-risk-and-the-future-of-software-development\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/pro\/vibe-coding-convenience-risk-and-the-future-of-software-development\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/pro\/vibe-coding-convenience-risk-and-the-future-of-software-development\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fraught with perils<\/a>: studies suggest the quality of vibe-coded apps is low, the practice has been accused of killing open-sourced software, and there are reports of vibe-coded apps having massive security flaws.
