(Image: Nick Lachance\/Toronto Star via Getty Images)<br \/>\nIn-Arena Visibility<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a multi-year agreement, FanDuel announced in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPartnering with the Toronto Tempo in their inaugural season is an exciting opportunity for FanDuel customers and basketball fans,\u201d said Tom Burdakin, Vice President of Marketing, FanDuel.\u00a0\u201cAs a company that shares the same passion for community and empowering women\u2019s sports, we are proud to support a new franchise that will celebrate fans and elevate women\u2019s professional sports in Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FanDuel has been active on the igaming sponsorship front going back to when the Ontario market launched in April 2022, most prominently on the local front with Maple Leaf Sports &amp; Entertainment, which includes betting partnership with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL, the NBA\u2019s Toronto Raptors, the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer.<\/p>\n<p>Expansion Franchise<\/p>\n<p>Those partnerships focus on marketing, branding and exclusive betting features. FanDuel and the WNBA announced a multi-year partnership in the U.S. in September 2022, where FanDuel became the Official Sportsbook Partner of the WNBA. FanDuel is also an Official Daily Fantasy Partner of the WNBA, operating the Official Daily Fantasy Game of the WNBA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne word to describe this partnership is transformative,\u201d\u00a0said Lisa Ferkul, Chief Revenue Officer, Toronto Tempo. \u201cWelcoming FanDuel marks a significant milestone for our organization as we continue to build Canada\u2019s first WNBA team and deepen fan engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Look for exclusive fan initiatives for FanDuel customers, as well as in-arena visibility and digital activations.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion team opens up their regular season May 8 at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto versus the Washington Mystics.
