Brad Stevens needs to make some room on his shelves.<\/p>\n

The Boston Celtics<\/a> president was named the NBA’s executive of the year, the league announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

It’s the second the time the 49-year-old has earned the award, making him the 12th executive to win it multiple times.<\/p>\n

The award is voted on by fellow executives across the league. Atlanta Hawks GM Onsi Saleh, who grew up in Alberta, finished second in voting.<\/p>\n

Stevens guided the Celtics to a second-place finish in the Eastern Conference at 56-26 despite missing star forward Jayson Tatum to an Achilles injury for most of the season.<\/p>\n

In the off-season, he dealt away stalwarts like Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis while re-shaping the roster around guard Jaylen Brown and a potential Tatum return, which happened late in the campaign.<\/p>\n

At the trade deadline, he flipped guard Anfernee Simons \u2014 acquired in the Holiday deal from the Portland Trail Blazers \u2014 to the Chicago Bulls for big man Nikola Vucevic.<\/p>\n
