Pitched as necessary to ensure m\u00e9tro users\u2019 sense of safety, Montreal\u2019s transit agency said Tuesday that it would maintain a ban on loitering in stations.<\/p>\n
The \u201cmove along\u201d order, which allows police to remove people loitering in m\u00e9tro stations, was introduced last winter<\/a> in response to unhoused Montrealers sheltering in the transit network.<\/p>\n The policy was briefly suspended in May 2025<\/a>, before the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de Montr\u00e9al revived it weeks later.
